Replace
Your Fears With Courage
by Susan Russo
"Courage
is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something is more important than fear." -Ambrose Redmoon
How
do you define the intangible feelings of fear? Some people are so steeped in their fears that they are controlled by them;
they become neuroses. Their fears incapacitate them from living a normal life; these types of fears are the extreme. But,
on some level; at one time or another; we all experience the insecurity and the crippling grasp of fear.
All of us have fears and as unbelievable as it is; most of them are unfounded. They are self-imposed,
limiting beliefs that imprison us from experiencing a more fulfilling life. They stop us in our tracks from making the necessary
decisions; that once gotten beyond; can only enhance our lives.
The anxiety and uncertainty that you feel when facing your
fears; are what keeps you stuck. The imagined, impending dread is just an illusion of reality. If you anticipate a particular
situation to occur; you will bring it about by emotionally experiencing it in your mind. Remember, what we choose to think
about in our minds, will eventually manifest itself into its physical equivalent.
Finding the courage to overcome your fears allows you to face your difficulty or pain with a new confidence
that will only strengthen your convictions. Ask anyone who has done it; stepping out of your box, builds self-esteem and
empowers you to do the things that at one time you didn't think were possible.
As you begin to stand up and face whatever
it is you are afraid of; the stronger you will become in conquering those fears. Taking small steps in surmounting your fears
will eventually allow you to overcome the imagined obstacles. The hardest part is taking the first step.
Whether you want to quit your job and find a new career; if you're afraid to walk away from a long term
relationship or if you are immobilized by the ever so dreaded fear of public speaking; taking the crucial steps to move yourself
through your fears will bring you closer to how you want to experience your life.
When you replace your fears with courage,
you empower yourself to do the very thing you thought you couldn't do. As scary as it may seem at first, pushing yourself
beyond your fears will liberate you to become a stronger person and will enable you to live the life you deserve.
Even though your fears seem to be real in your mind, what you are actually capable of achieving is more
powerful than any fear that holds you captive. Remember, conquer your fears or they will conquer you. You are the only one
who can make a difference.
Warm wishes…Susan
